A Visit from Thames

I was honored by a visit from the author of Endsville Flask, whose writing I've followed with enthusiasm for several years now. Newly-minted public schoolteacher, musician, Christian, intrepid solo traveler of the lower-48, and Dave Barry fan, Thames is a young man with a wonderful gift for self-scrutiny and honesty.

I was disappointed that my gimpy foot and work schedule prevented me from showing him around my hometown, but we did have a couple of meals and long chats together. I am grateful to live in an era where it's possible for two people from wildly different geographic and demographic coordinates to meet and find common ground.
