The Imposition of Ashes
Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
Frankly, it's a hell of an imposition.
Nobody really wants to be reminded that, in the long run, we're all dead. No one wants the stink of mortality and death trailing around after them all day, every day.
Mere dust. Not too dignified, eh?
The Litany for Lent is a pretty thorough cataloging of sins, major and petty. If you can read it without being struck just how precisely and comprehensively it applies to you, then you're either a saint or in serious denial. I should probably read it every day.

Yep. That's the one.
No blogging. No reading of blogs.
My, oh my, am I going to miss it. And each time I do will be an opportunity to turn myself over to the God in whom we live and move and have our being.
See you at Sonrise.
