Two Messages

On my way home this evening I crossed over Key Bridge from Virginia to DC. At the start of Key Bridge there was a portable electronic sign, which flashed the following message:

Homeland Security Alert *blink* Heightened Security Status *blink* Report Suspicious Activity *blink* To 911 or 311

Stenciled on a utility box to the right of the bridge, with big black block letters on a white background, was another message:

READ ORWELL

Changing of the guard...

As 2004 begins, I regretfully retire Time's Shadow from the blogroll, as Commander Dave has (for now only, I hope) ceased publication, and add far too easily satisfied. It's author, Coqui, is a young woman who photographs prolificly and continually explores her vital and engaged relationship with God. I think you'll enjoy checking in with her.
